As believers, we often think of coaching as something that comes from others—a wise mentor, a trusted advisor, or a financial coach guiding us along. But what if one of the most powerful forms of coaching actually begins with ourselves? Are you coachable?
Are you Coachable: An Examination of the Heart
The Apostle Paul wrote, “Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness” (1 Timothy 4:7, NASB). This call to spiritual discipline and personal reflection is foundational to biblical stewardship and legacy. Before we can lead our families or steward resources well, we must regularly examine our own hearts, habits, and decisions.
Self-coaching isn’t self-reliance—it’s Spirit-led self-examination.
It begins by asking tough questions:
Q#1: Am I truly surrendering every area of my life to God?
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:6
Q#2: What legacy am I building through today’s decisions?
“The righteous who walks in his integrity—blessed are his children after him!” — Proverbs 20:7
Q#3: Does my financial stewardship reflect faith or fear?
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
Q#4: How does my current lifestyle reflect my Kingdom priorities?
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33
Are you Coachable: An Invitation to Our Heart
When we invite the Holy Spirit to search our hearts (Psalm 139:23–24), we position ourselves to grow in wisdom, peace, and effectiveness. At Stewardship Legacy Coaching, we believe intentional reflection precedes meaningful transformation.
Self-coaching also means reminding yourself what is true: God owns it all (Psalm 24:1). We are stewards, not owners. And our calling is to be found faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2). Speaking these truths to our own hearts helps us lead our families well, as we seek to live well, leave well, and shape our legacy with confidence and clarity.
Are you Coachable: An Identification of Our Heart
As you consider your goals for the rest of the year, take time to pause and coach yourself. Get quiet with the Lord. Journal your insights. Identify one area to grow in—and invite someone to walk with you. Then find your identification in Christ alone as you pursue to live well and leave well for the Kingdom of God.
You have a legacy to build—and it begins with the daily choice to let God coach you from within.
Ready to take the next step in your stewardship journey? We’re here to walk alongside you—with clarity, prayer, and Christ-centered coaching.
